I was born in Ireland, in a small country town, just outside Belfast. I was one of four girls raised by two loving parents. After finishing school I moved to Edinburgh to train as a podiatrist. This just happened to be where I met my Canadian husband. After graduating we got married, moved to Canada and lived for 8 yrs. We travelled all over Canada, enjoying the beautiful country and spending lots of quality time with my husbands family. As our two daughters grew, we decided we wanted to live somewhere slightly warmer than -59 for a wee bit. We came over to Australia for a holiday and fell in love with it. We applied for permanent residency and got accepted. We 1st moved to WA as we have family there. We lived in Mandurah for a year and enjoyed a lot of gorgeous weather. We then decided to travel over to Victoria and try the East Coast before settling down. We have been in Victoria now for 4 years and feel very much at home.
As a podiatrist I get to meet such a variety of clients, from all walks of life. I learn all about each person and their entire families and friends. I feel very privileged to be able to provide some comfort or help with different medical conditions or physical problems they may be experiencing… But my job is also very much just being there to listen to each person and to show compassion and care. I love my patients and therefore I love my job!
